Beaufighter Observer's Canopy assembly

For a clear canopy, use soft clear film such as those used for portfolios (available in business supply stores). Use clear tape inside the part to assemble it. Then cut small strips of adhesive (from adhesive labels) to apply to the outside bottom edge of the canopy. This will allow part 152 to have a place to stick to securely.

Printing the PDF files

Even though the model files are in Adobe Acrobat PDF format, it is better to not use Acrobat to print them. For some reason, the colours (of the prints) turn out much darker than it is intended. I use Adobe Illustrator to design the models. So it is best to use Illustrator, or another vector drawing program, to print the files.

Smooth Round Part

To have a smoother looking rounded section as shown in figure 3, construct the part as shown in figure 1. An easy way to connect the "petals" is to tape them together from the inside then apply glue between the "petals" on the outside of the part. When completely dry, apply a thin layer of modelling putty (for plastic models) as shown in figure 2. When the putty has completely dried, sand it with fine grit sandpaper. Finish by painting the part with the appropriate colour.
